Congrats Melissa and Justin!

Just had to share some good news we just got - my cousins just found out that they have been chosen as the adoptive parents for a soon-to-be born baby boy! I am so excited for them! The birth mom is having some blood pressure problems so there is a possibility that he will be here in 3 weeks but if she's able to carry him full term he will be born at Christmastime! Please keep the mom and baby's health and Melissa and Justin in your prayers as they prepare for their little one!

Congrats!!!

Pumpkin carving with my pumpkin!

This afternoon we carved our pumpkins that we got at the pumpkin patch. Hudson enjoyed it. He sat on the counter and "helped" quite a bit of the time. He would not stick his arm in the pumpkin for a long time, but after I got it all cleaned out then he decided it was okay. But he still enjoyed sitting there and talking about the seeds ("eeewww" "gross") and "cutting" the pumpkin. He also ate a little pumpkin and must have thought it wasn't bad cause he tried several bites! He especially got excited when I carved an Elmo face in my pumpkin for him. Definitely the highlight of the pumpkin carving - although playing with the screwdriver was probably a close second!
Gotta get this pumpkin cleaned out!

Cut it right here

Working hard!

A little cheese to go along with our pumpkin!

Hudson's ELMO that I did for him on the back side of my pumpkin. He loves him.

A little snack...

Maybe just one more bite...

Family pic - my pumpkin is the S one and Jamie's is the scary one (in case you couldn't tell!)

sleepy boy

You would think since he was so tired he went right down for a nap and slept a good couple hours, right? WRONG - this is HUDSON we are talking about. He was asleep as soon as I took him out of the seat but as soon as I put him in his bed and he was up crying. Took me 30 minutes to get him back to sleep - for a 20 minute nap! Is it even worth it?!?!?

painting pumpkins

This morning we painted our small pumpkins. This was Hudson's first experience with painting and he enjoyed it. I think we definitely will be doing more painting projects this winter to keep us occupied. He did a pretty good job of keeping the paint on the pumpkin and the plate only - just a little on his hands and he only tried to eat it twice. So all in all it was a good, fun time!

SC Homecoming

Our friends - Jamie's college roommate - came down from KC this weekend and we spent the day yesterday in Sterling for Homecoming. In the morning they had a parade and then in the afternoon there was a football game. Here's all the kids waiting for the parade to start:
In these next 3 pictures we are still waiting for the parade to start but I think Hudson was just as - if not more - entertained with the cars and trucks driving by before the parade started!

Of course, there was candy once the parade started so maybe that was a little better!

Leaves

Hudson loves playing in the leaves now. Never mind the hundreds of leaves lying on the ground though- he'd rather pull them off the trees!

" Throwing" leaves up above his head - "up high" as Hudson says. He never actually let go of the leaves but he still thought it was great fun.

Hudson Stinemetz

Brush your teeth!

Hudson loves to brush. He'll think about it randomly throughout the day and go in the bathroom and point to his toothbrush and say "brush, brush." No cavities for this little man!

Mimi's Pumpkin Patch

We had so much fun at the first pumpkin patch that we decided we should go again! This time we went to Hudson's great-grandma's pumpkin patch. She had some big ones so we had to take the wheelbarrow out to the garden to bring them back.

Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch. It was beautiful outside (although a little windy first thing in the morning) and we had a great time. There was lots more to do than just pick a pumpkin....we also got to see the cows and goats, play in the corn bin, go down the big slide and jump on the trampoline! Here's some pics of our day:

Hudson holding his pumpkin he picked out. Of course he picked up a different one as we were getting back on the tractor to leave. And he broke the stem off this one after we got it home.

Playing in the corn bin. They had this huge bin filled with corn kernels and he loved it. He kept throwing them and was pretty proud of himself for doing so!

After I finally got him out of the corn bin all he wanted to do was pick the corn kernels up off the ground. When we got home his diaper was filled with corn!

Climbing on the hay bales.

Jumping on the jumping pillow. This one was neat since it was inground the kids can't hurt themselves too badly on it. Hudson loved it. He kept saying "jumping, jumping, jumping" and "WHOA".

The slide. It was a pretty fun slide and very fast. We did it 3 times although I'm not sure he really liked it all that much. The third time up the hill to go down it he was saying "no, no."

Picking out more pumpkins. He liked this one with the bumps all over it. He found a little tiny green pumpkin later in the day and it's his favorite. He carried it around all afternoon yesterday and again this morning.

Posing with the BIG pumpkin. (That's the little green one in his hand.0)

Riding in the wagon with our pumpkins. I picked out 2 big ones that we'll carve for jack-o-lanterns sometime soon.

It's Fall!

The weather here has been cold, overcast and rainy for about a week but yesterday the sun was shining and it was very nice out. So Hudson and I went out and raked the leaves in the backyard and played in them. I have to admit how proud I was of the leaf pile we raked up. This is all the leaves we had in the backyard but the first time we have ever had enough to rake into a small pile. I am so excited our trees our growing! I'm sure I won't be so happy about it 5-10 years from now but for now it's exciting!

We collected leaves and then I rubbed a glue stick all over the paper and he stuck them on. He did a really good job - I wasn't sure if he would do it or not but he enjoyed it. Enough that we went out again this evening and collected some more. I'm going to try to use the page he made as a scrapbook page with a few pictures of him playing in the leaves on it - we'll see how it turns out!

Showing off his artwork!
Video of him playing outside and talking about everything he sees!
