28 weeks

Thought I’d give you an update on the pregnancy.  Most everything is going along as normal EXCEPT the baby is breech!   That does not bode well for our plans for a home birth.   It’s still a little early to worry too much about it cause he has plenty of time to flip on his own, but our midwife tried to get him to flip at my appt this week and he wouldn’t do it.  His heart rate dropped both times she tried it so there is some concern that the cord could be too short or the placenta in the way or some reason that he has gotten himself into this position and doesn’t want to move out of it.  He is also very low in my pelvis already which is unusual for only 28 weeks (and uncomfortable!).  So for now I am working on doing lots of walking, swimming, drinking lots of water, getting adjusted and doing inversion (lying upside down on the ironing board as its propped against the couch)  to try and get him to flip on his own.  If he doesn’t flip soon we’ll go in for another sonogram to see if there is anything keeping him from doing so and then go from there…

Senior Night

For those of you who have been wondering – we are still alive!  Just very, very busy!  Our CA at the clinic had a baby 2 weeks ago so I am working at the clinic now full time while she is out on maternity leave.  Doesn’t leave me much time – or energy – for anything else these days!

But we did manage to make it to Christin’s volleyball games yesterday where they recognized her as a senior…can’t believe it’s been 4 years already!   Celeste went all out and made some signs and bought face crayons – Garret even wore his tiger costume from halloween last year.

The babies wanted in on the action too:

I made Hudson a shirt to wear to the games – the front says little tiger with a picture of a tiger and the back has #11 – just like Christin!

Hudson loved to talk about painting faces, and play with the crayons but wouldn’t let anyone near him to draw on his face.  Till Christin came out and she didn’t even have to ask twice! He just let her do it!

Hot date

Hudson took me to a concert the other night – Veggie Tales Live!  This was on our way there  - he couldn’t stop singing the theme song the whole time he was getting dressed and at dinner before.  The show was a little too long for his age but he still enjoyed it.  He was pretty mesmerized by the life size veggies up on stage through the first half of the show!

We had flour EVERYWHERE by the time we finished making these!  But Hudson enjoyed rolling up the snakes!

run. run. run.

For those of you who don’t know, Jamie took up running this summer.  He ran a 5k over the 4th of July in Sterling and instead of being satisfied with that he kept training.  He and his friend Doug ran a 10k this last weekend in Inman, Kansas.  Exciting place, yes, I know.  It was the closest one they could find of that length so they drove out there early Saturday morning and ran.   They placed in the top 3!  (We won’t mention there were only 3 runners total in their bracket!)

Crossing the finish line!

Worn out!

Jamie’s time was 54:30 – Doug beat him by about a minute – which had Jamie pretty disappointed – but still he ran a really good time – I know I couldn’t do it!  There’s an 8k coming up in Wichita that the guys might run but I think they have gotten a little tired of all the running and are going to start a different workout program for the winter…
