Tate is 10 months old. Wow. It doesn't seem possible that it's gone that fast. But, it has and now I've already begun planning for the BIG 1st Birthday Party!
Tate is getting sooooo close to crawling. Of course, I have thought that for the last month now but this week he has actually started moving himself across the room - kind of. He rolls and scoots and hollers about it the whole time, but he does actually get somewhere. He can now go back up to his knees from lying on his belly, and he is starting to make one or two little crawling movements (moving his arms and knees at the same time) but then he falls down onto his tummy.
He has also become quite the jabberbox. Lots of "da-da's" and "ba-ba's" and a few "ma-ma's", plus lots of jibberish. He LOVES his big brother and his face lights up when he comes into the room.
We (as in I) am working harder on getting him to sleep through the night. After his last cold, and what we thought were more teeth coming in (but none have popped through yet) he had gotten back in the habit of waking up every 2-3 hours at night. So this last week we have been either letting him put himself back to sleep or only going in and patting his bottom to help get him back to sleep. No nursing- until after 4 am is my rule. I figure we'll get him to that point and then start pushing it further and further till he isn't waking up at all (cross my fingers!). The first night he was up a lot, but since then, especially if we do good keeping him on a schedule (as in bed time by 7:30 which is very hard to do since Jamie doens't get home till around 6:45) he has done pretty well. He also takes much longer naps when we keep him on a better schedule, so we're working at it. Hudson never napped regardless of a schedule or not, so it's different being tied down to that. Makes for very small windows of time for me to be able to run errands or do stuff outside the house, but if it means the baby sleeps, then let the baby sleep!
He loves eating now and is eating meat now. The boy loved his spaghetti meat! Chowed it down. He has also had beans and chicken, and this week we started some yogurt. He loves it all and prefers to feed himself over us spoon feeding him, so that is what we have been doing lately.
(and no, I can't ever remember to put a bib on the child!)
