pooltime

Despite cloudy skys and a few raindrops we went to the pool this afternoon. The kids have been waiting all week to go and it hasn't been hot enough and it rained yesterday so today we braved the thunderclouds. The water wasn't actually that cold so it was pretty nice. The waterpark we went to had some slides for the big kids, a lazy river and a kid area. Hudson loved the lazy river - they had 2 person rafts and one side had a bottom in it so he sat in front and I rode behind him and we went round and round. I finally got him out cause his lips were turning blue! The kid part had lots of fountains and he loves playing in those.

"Where'd the water go?"

The water would shoot out of the holes and then stop for awhile and restart. This is one of his new things to do - his "where did it go" look.

fun in the sun

The water was REALLY cold at the pool yesterday but Hudson went right and in and loved it. He has started putting his face down in the water and trying to blow bubbles but usually ends up with a mouth full of water instead. But he thinks it's fun! We finally had to take him out of the pool when his lips started turning blue!

swimming

The hotel we stayed at had an indoor pool and this was Hudson's first time in a pool. He loved it! Besides splashing, his favorite things were standing on the steps and looking at the No Dive signs on the side of the pool. I guess since they are red they caught his eye. He'd see one and hoot and splash till we took him over to the side to touch it.

My camera fogged up when we first went in - but doesn't he look so cute in his suit?

He loved splashing around and watching the other kids in the pool. The first time my Mom went under the water and came back up he was pretty bewildered. I guess he didn't recognize her with her hair wet cause he gave her a strange look then grabbed her hair. Once he decided it was still her he thought it was funny.

Looking at the No Dive signs - so cool!

The second morning we went swimming Hudson got pretty tired. He laid down in my Mom's arms and she walked around the pool with him for several minutes!
